Hi. Hope i am doing this correctly, i am new to the site . Name is Angelo i have had 3 range rovers over the years, a vogue and 2 sports. My current sport is a 3 litre diesel v8. I love the car but the rear tyres are wearing on the inner edge on the passenger side and outer edge on the drivers side. Mechanic has checked the suspension and thinks it could just be the tyre brand. I have only ever used hancock. Could he be right? I am about to change all four for the winter . Is there a particlar brand my car prefers. It's a 2008 car. Would appreciate any feedback and apologies if i am not on the correct section for this question.

Hi

Did u get a print out when the four wheel alignment was done and was it a hunter system

what make are the 4 x tyres please and sizes

Put the suspension into access mode, grab the top of the wheels and see if there’s any play

also get the rear suspension spindle connecting rod checked as that can cause uneven tyre wear

have u noticed any knows or slight twitch when going round corners plse

hopefully is just a simple fix but indeed wouldn’t get new tyres fitted until u know 100% the fault has been found as we know set of tyres arnt cheap and would be a shame to have new tyres ruined because of something else

hi and ur very welcome

I own a D3 and went through replacing bushes , arms etc , done all the work myself as it was going to cost silly money otherwise , know the feeling when I drove it with worn bushes and how it twitched etc, after I replaced them all feels like a different vehicle

indeed sounds like worn bushes and alignment needs sorting out

start with lowering ur suspension to its lowest setting then grab the top of the tyres and rock them, see if u can feel any movement

Always best to use hunter 4 x wheel alignment system

in the mean time have u got a print out from past alignments and what make, size of tyres have u currently got fitted please

also plse keep us updated of what u find and there plenty of us here to always help where we can

Worn bushes and wheel alignment.

plus 1, soon notice it when going round corners with a slight twitch, feels like a really an under pressurised tyre

after I replaced all mine it drove like a new motor , plus also noticed some don’t pre load the bushes etc when tightening them back up

Plus if it is the bushes and do the work urself ur in for a treat replacing them, lol
