The BECM will not ask for EKA if the EKA is turned off and yes you can just turn it back on.Can you not just enable it again with the Nanocom? Or will it not enable until the EKA has been put in? I seem to recall a hell of a thread somewhere on this with a well known combatant.
The key to not having problems is, as I said, turning off both EKA and the Immobiliser. Both can of course be turned back on if you want trouble
The previous problems were, if I remember correctly, about entering the EKA with diagnostics which cannot be done on early BECM's, nor can you turn EKA off if the system wants the EKA code.
