hi all . i was tinkering about under my bonnet the other day wen i noticed my turbo saver (big blue canister that looks a bit like a filter) is mounted but none of the pipes coming from it are connected to anything ????? rather baffled would i be better removing it all together or conecting it up ???

Aye, my thoughts exactly.

Google has come up with nowt for "turbocharger protective system" so it must be an aftermarket "fuelsaver magnet" type device.

take it off and stick it on ebay with all that bull**** off their website. You might make a few quid.
