Hi folks,
Freelander TD4 2004 has been struggling on motorway to go over 50 mph, 2000 rev with engine light comes on when going over 2000 revs but resets when slows…
Followed the main threads on this forum and changed out with Land Rover original parts:
* Turbo solenoid valve (2 hose connections)
* EGR pipe (broke when removing EGR valve)
* 2 hoses (one was partially melted from time/contact with EGR housing)
* High pressure sensor @ loc to bottom left of inlet manifold looking from in front of vehicle (showed up on diagnostics as faulty)
checked the main pipes look good, cleaned out Egr valve,
replaced gaskets to cyclone crank case housing.
Pump was only replaced few years ago with original Land Rover part, seems good.
I remember replacing a ‘turbo boost actuator’ I think it was called (3 hose connections I think not the 2 hose one) towards the front of the engine, awkward to get located just under trim I think (not under inlet manifold), but I only bought Eastern European cheap one as far as I can remember… this May be the part that’s acting up?? I think it’s the one shown in photo attached with the three hose connections?
what’s this part actually called, anyone got a part number?
I’m down around 500 quid now but to be fair it needed a few upgrades, just passed the 100k mile range.
I can’t think of anything else from reading the fantastic threads here… it feels like the car is running better than ever since all the changes, but it’s like something is in default mode, also drinking diesel like I do Guinness on paddy’s day!
any help on this much appreciated,
Many thanks,
Anthony
