hi,got a problem with select,ing gears its a auto range will start but when i select drive the stick will move but will not go in to gear ,really need some help please, This problem seemed to happen after my son had washed it.

Get underneath and check the selector on the side of the box. It is about half way back on the passenger side. Get someone to move the lever inside and watch that the cable and selector on the side of the box moves.

Now thats outta the way, can you not ask him what hes done?Or have ya beaten him into next week!?Is there a high n low selector on the p38?Maybe the gearbox is in N?
 
Hi, I just thought id mention the fact that it had been washed because we had a similar problem last time. but it seemed to sort it self out..unlike now its saying its transmission...But i will try and find out if it has a high and low selector..:confused2:
 
just a thought could it be the xy switch on the box playing up,if the car has been washed underneath and the breather tube has become dislodged water could have got in.or a bad earth to the gearbox ecu
