Hi all, the trailer dash light came on yesterday on my 1990 LR 90. As such I’ve got no use of indicators.

I’ve never used a trailer and have seen info on checking flasher unit etc but beyond knowing where it is I’m clueless. Is there a way to manually turn this light off so I can get use of indicators again?

Cheers.

Is this the flasher unit? If so, it’s filled with water! I’ve done my best to drain it but I’m guessing this is F’d now. Do you have to remove the panel holding the fuses to get full access to the flasher unit? I’m having trouble getting the screws off haha!

Cheers.

Yes it is. Just a bog standard electronic one from Hella. So as it's faulty replace with another Heller TB 64 relay or an equivalent and in a different position would seem to be ideal for better access in the future.

Brilliant, thanks for the reply. I’ve looked for Hella TB64’s but can’t find them in the UK. Would any 12V relay with the same number of pins be ok to replace it with?

Normally and they are in the same position (orientation) as the Hella, I would suspect that the original factory item would have been Lucas which would be hard to find also.

I see there's a couple of Hella relays on eBay, also I'm unsure but it may be similar to the disco 1 five pin indicator relay.

On some models the trailer light is also doubles as the hazard warning light, hazard switches can also cause issues with the indicators so it may be worth having a play with that to see if it affects anything.
