Cool .. ;)

Yeah, Trayback would sort departure angle I guess. I thought your front attack angle looked good, but maybe it still overhangs the wheel front a bit.

Saw a cool looking mod a while ago, someone had added a couple of 2" x 2" box section 'sliders' between the front and rear diffs .. which might lose a little break-over, which might be negated by it not catching (hopefully) anywhere. They also protected the gearboxes quite well .. ;)

yeah trayback is in the pipeline, but i'd like to buy my own bender to make it myself, as i've got a design in my head for how i want it to look plus theres a few other bits id like to make ;)

yeah i've seen a similar thing that someone created a 'ski' underneith to ride over rocks, but i think i'm just going to make a bash plate so its abit better breakover angle but protects the gearbox :)

Was down at gigglepin the other day talking to Jim, he was saying he was very impressed with how you drove so must have been doing a decent job of it!

i was mightily impressed with Jim, he helped me no end, especially on the quarry section where he helped guide me around the harshest bits and the last bog stage, where a previous competitor had knocked a tree down across the path, and he got i with his Hand Saw !! and cut the tree down whilst i was getting to that part of the section. legend :D

his truck is kinda the inspiration i use on mine too :)

the engine bits have gone away to be sorted, they'll call me once the crank is ground so i can order the shells to the correct size, bores are getting honed slightly and heads having a light skim and pressure test :)

crank is ground, bores honed, just the head to do then i e it all back, they took 20 off of the crank s it was fairly worn but not excessive :)

parts ordered frm real steel, cyclone cam HD pushrods, new followers, upgraded oil pump bits and all the rebild stuff, should be here friday then rebuild over the weekend, just need to sort some oil from my supplier for running in and looking after the new bits :)

winch serviced monday night, its amazing how dirty the oil gets even with it being completely sealed, re greased and ready to go back in

hopefully should make the ext challenge next weekend :)

No hanging around son!

soooo... forgive me if ive missed the point, but what actually happened to the engine??

As far asni can work out the only thing that coukd have gone wrong is it slipped a tooth on the timing which caused it to run so terribly

Yeah im getting my lil supplier to get me some top spec oil :)

Righto!

Dare I say there is probably a tooth's worth of stretch in the chain, so add another tooth and we've got a chugger :p

Right seeing as I bent both radius arms at the welsh I decided to beef the up abit :D

Weld porn ;)

Pistons back in and bottom end torqued up :)

New duplex chain on with 2° timong advance :) she wont skip off now :D

Heads should be finished tomorrow then put the new vavle seals and springs on and the rest can be rebuilt :)

It feels so much nicer having a freshly rebuilt engine.
all you need now is ms ;)

I love building engines :) its a satisfying feeling after everyth I ng has been timed up and carefully re ebuilt to have it running swet as a nut again :)

MS would be nice, but she already runs well with water so it would only be ease of tunability that would be the major benefit, and it costs quite alot

Heads are done and ill get them back tonorrow so I can rebuild the engine Tomorrow night.

Or put a new clutch in my TD5 because it seems I never have enough work on at once so decided to split that tonight seeing as I couldn't work on the truck.

I think I have a problem
