Wkd video like the motor that ploughed the tree down winching
right weve stripped the engine down tonight ...
well nothings broken ... which is abit dissapointing ... i guess but still staggers me that it ran so badly and went from running fine to being so crap, with nothing seriously broken ...
the crank is intact, as is the cam, all the conrods are straight, all the pushrods are fine, headgaskets are fine, piston rings are fine ... its weird.
i mean the crank is pretty worn but not scrap, and the cam is tired, but again runable. the timing chain was pretty slack and the only thing that really confused us was, the centre crank shells are c shaped on 1 half around the casting but the other half are standard shells shaped, when dad thought they should both be c section shaped ????
so mabie this engine is salvageable the bores have a small lip but nothing to be worried about and aren't scored
thye crank wants a grind and balance but should be good to go again
the engine never breathed heavy or used oil which is a good sign
so any ideas guys why it would run so terribly without massive internal damage ? just a cunulative of worn parts throwing the timing ?
Maybe it was just a typical **** Lucarse powered motor that went all moody all of a sudden!

Sorry for the questions, but I really am interested ...
How did the tyres work? I expect the grip was pretty good, I saw the hill! but what about wear etc. What pressures did you run? Did they cause any problems of their own? How did the beadlocks perform? Anything you'd change from them?
cheers.
