The message centre says I have and ABS Fault and a Traction Fault.

I connected up my Nanocom and in the faults it says that the front left sensor has shorted more than once?

On the inputs, both front sensors are reporting 2.37v when stationary, and the voltage fluctuates as I drive forward.

The rear left sensor is slightly lower than the fronts , but the rear right says 0v and doesn't change when I move the vehicle.

Now I suppose it could be the sensor, but I could do with knowing where the ABS ECU is located so that I can check connections etc...

Any common faults or is it going to be the sensor?
 
Thought ABS ECU was under the passenger seat...or is that Classics only!
 
hi the ecu is above the panel with obd2 socket in above passenger foot well easyer to remove than glove box but is a bit off a fiddle to get clips out (well it is a range rover is any thing easy) hope this helps.
 
To save time with the Rave, does anyone know if the sensors are wired directly to the ABS ECU?

I managed to pick up a second hand ABS ECU for £20 on eBay and a set of 4 ABS Sensors for £40. Going to have a look at the problem next week when I have a few days off, should have all the bits that I need there. I'll let you know what the outcome is.
 
ABS ECU was the wrong type! it seems there are two versions - ordered the correct one now.

I have replaced all of the ABS sensors and am still getting the same errors.

The rear right sensor isn't registering a voltage on my Nanocom, but when I drive forwards, the sensor is generating a speed signal!!
The front left shows the correct voltage but no speed signal when moving.
As the sensors are new, and they go directly to the ECU, it can only be the ECU.

Should be here midweek, I'll post the outcome.
 
I have replaced the ABS ECU now, and the wheel sensors are all registering a voltage and a wheel speed when moving.

However, the front left sensor is still registering a fault - shorting at least 6 time according to Nanocom.

I'm going to swap the front left sensor again this weekend to rule that out - any ideas?


I also noticed that the new ABS ECU has the vehicle VIN no of the car it came off when I look at settings on the Naoncom. There is an option to change it, so I type in the correct one, hit "Write" and I keep getting an error "Communication Error" Does the VIN matter?

Ignore the VIN.
Most sensor faults seem to be down to ECU faults sadly. worth checking that the wiring is not chaffed.
 
I have the same message. I hD it pug in to a landrover dealer and it sade there wae a Erth fault .can you tell me wear the abs erth is

OK, - Update
I replaced the front left sensor this morning, hooked up my Nanocom, cleared the faults and went for a drive. No faults, beeps or errors, all back to normal now.
