All P38s have traction control - the early ones have it on the rear wheels, but I think the newer ones have all four wheels with traction control.

Hi i have a 1995 2.5 dse p38 I dont have a TC light on the dash when i turn the ignition on so didn't think i had ANY traction control, my mate has a 1997 4.6 hse and does have the light and traction does work as he ****ed all over the off road coarse at peterbough this weekend made off roader discos with suspension lift's and big a/t tyres look silly. lol

So do i have traction on the back??

I dont have a light either so I dont think I Have it

As far as I know, all P38s should have traction control, at least on the rear wheels. One way to test if you have it or not is to drive onto some wet grass or some mud or even gravel, and floor it in first gear - traction control makes a hell of a racket when it starts working, sort of a clattering/shuddering sound. I think that 1999 was the crossover year when they added four wheel traction control.

Think iv got to the bottom of it at last iv read through rave it says when the ignition is turned on the traction control light should light for three seconds which mine doesn't so Unless the bulbs gone but I would have thought the computer would have told me I dont have it. Ill take the dash out to check cheers for all the help

Yeah the computer does usually warn you to problems with the traction control, just 'TRACTION FAULT' or something, I remember it because it came up when I was test driving a right old dog of a P38 a year or so ago.
