Hi!

Has anybody had any experience of carrying a motorcycle on a frame which fits to the towbar of a Disco such as these?

trials motorcross motorcycle motorbike carrying rack

I am looking for something a bit more comfortable and interesting than a van for towing my caravan and TZR250 race bike to meetings.

I thought of a Range Rover as the nose weight of most of the towbars seems to be about 150KG but have been put off by the overheating/slipped liner issues of the V8.

The bike weighs about 110KG and I would also be towing a small caravan, generator, spares etc.

Cheers, Marcus

a mate of mine who does motocross had a similar thing to that, i didnt think much to it when i first seen it fitted but the bike was solid when strapped to it and it didnt see saw like i thought it would.

We use one regularly for Trials bikes and have no problems with it. Largest bike we've carried is an XR 400, which is about 125 Kg's ish.

Only issue we have is with the bike strapped on we can't use the Disco rear door, so have to pack slightly differently when we use it.

Awkward to pack away as the ends have the strap osts on at 90 degrees to the wheel tray, but it's the only gripe we have with it. The mount is really sturdy, we caught an end out greenlaning in North yorks and it bent the towbar mounting rail , not the rack!
