Hi All :welcome2:
Had my 300tdi now for 6 months, best thing I ever did! Thinking of upgrading the intercooler. I understand you get increased BHP and better MPG? But being a born sceptic and bearing in mind the cost.................. Is it worth it? If so which intercooler do you suggest?................... Fit it myself or is there somewhere near Grimsby that does a good job of fitting them and at what cost?

Appreciate everyones thoughts and experiances.
Cheers Pmorti :D

I got an upgraded Intercooler from Jeremy Fearn a few years ago and have been very pleased with the results.
Using the AC used to be like pulling on the handbrake , but the upgrade easily compensates for the extra load.
The car is also a lot better at going up hills !

Anybody heard of ALIVE TUNING in GRIMSBY?

I've only seen the advert of the td5 on the track
Im in the midst of getting mine right ATM I've fitted a new pump which was underperformed need to get it right as it is gutless as sin and thirsty but it's just a matter of trial and error

Alive Tuning do make 300tdi intercoolers, or rather Serck Motorsport make them for them. Maybe call them and ask to speak with Jim in the Workshop about any pros/cons and further tweeks which can be made such as with the injector pump etc...

We are in Grimsby, and keep several types of land rover intercooler on stock at all times. :)

You must drop in to our workshop on Wilton Road, for a coffee and a chat.

Best Regards,

Gary.

I hear only good things about Five Alive tuning, but living in Wetherby I chose to use Twisted Performance in Thirsk as it's just up the A1 from me.

They did silicon hoses and interooler on my 200Tdi (which was sadly stolen), and then when I had replaced Mandy (the Landy) with Glenda, they did the same for the 300Tdi.

Very happy man, she's like new, and I return just under 26mpg and that's doing rubbish stop /start mileage round town and going to the livery yard etc.

You won't regret it, I'm just trying to save up for an SS exhaust and some hybrid turbo nonsense (don't know what it means, but it will give me more bhp) :D
