Hi
The 200tdi in my 110 is looking like the piston rings are going to need to be replaced as it's a bit smokey when warm. I've taken the head off to check if the head gasket was still intact but I've discovered a small but noticeable ridge in the cylinder bores so I'm guessing bore wear/piston rings are the problem.
As the pistons will be coming out I may as well get the block bored out to get rid of the ridge. Then I'm thinking I may as well replace the Conrod bearings and big end bearing while I'm at it.
When I bought the truck the engine was apparently on around 130,000 miles so the engine should have plenty of life left in it, so how in-depth is it worth going whilst the engine is apart. Will it be worth replacing the cam bearing as well and what about things like valve guides?
This will be my first time rebuilding an engine so any tips will be appreciated. I want to get some experience doing this kind of thing so I'm definitely looking to have a go at it myself.
Thanks
