Looking at a 4.0 HSE on LPG, are there any issues with removing the LPG system as I dont do a high milage and no LPG stations near me, eg 200 miles away?.

If it is multipoint, you will have to make good the ports that may have been drilled into the intake manifold for the gas injector pipes....should be simple enough to do.

The issue would be the wiring loom....if it was done properly and neatly, it will be a case of un splicing the wiring to the Petrol ECU....most decent LPG systems use interceptor leads for the petrol injectors so just unplug the intercepting fly leads and plug the injectors back into the original loom.....but, if it was done on the cheap or by a muppet, you could be in a world of hurt figuring out how they wired it in.

There is no harm in leaving it all there, drain the LPG tank properly using a specialist - or run it till it changes back over to petrol, and then just turn the LPG system off and never use it!!

As a family we have two P38, 4.6 Bosch Motronic RR's with the BRC multipoint system, fitted by Capital Autogas in New Malden. No had a single problem with the engines or the LPG system in 5+ years and probably 60k between the two..having towed, and done a fair amount of miles.. did a head rebuild on the one in my Avatar this year due to a HG leak on Number 7 checked the liners all good. and fine and dandy. The don't need the valve saver lube.

My Porsche Cayenne has the same BRC system, with the valve saver lube tank and no problems there either.

Don't be tempted to go for top end LPG plugs at £80 for the set. makes no difference, apart from in the wallet, the BPR6ES plugs at 16.00 a set are just fine.

it costs about 45 to fill up and get 210 miles out of a tank of LPG

My latest car, a 4.6 Rangie Vogue is on petrol, and not really enough space to fit a decent LPG vtank and keep the full-size petrol tank, which we prefer.

I'm not sure whether they still do it but RPi in Norfolk did a conversion retaining the 100 L petrol tank and fitting 2 LPG tanks with a total volume of 135 L providing around 110L usable LPG capacity and a total range (with petrol) of over 600 miles. You lose the spare wheel well with that configuration and the exhaust needs re-routing. This is the rig that I selected as I didn't want to have to fill up too often. Consistent range of 300 miles between LPG refuels.

My 1st landy was a V8 110 CSW on carbs which had been fitted with a very basic lpg system early in its life, I did around 100k miles mostly on lpg in it and all I had to do in that time was a HG and rad (because of the HG failure).
One thing that always impressed me was that even 2000 miles after an oil change, when checking the level the oil was still clean, I guessed this was because there was no fuel wash-down past the rings.

I remember a well known land Rover journalist have major problems after an lpg install. They had drilled the inlet manifold without taking it off ,letting the swarf enter the engine! After years of dodgy running, irontite cures constant topping up etc etc. He strips it down and discovered what happened! Lpg is actually a great idea it's the implementation that's sadly lacking especially at the £1200 conversion end of the market.

We had our 4.6 converted as soon as we got it .
Its a 1996 and has been good as gold. It's a Prins system with a tank where the spare wheel goes.
LPG in Dorset is about 60p / litre .
Had no problems in the year it's been fitted, It had a free check after 500 miles.

Hi guys I have a p38 LPG system leanardo I want to disconnect at injectors what would be the wires to cut and reconnect.can I just connect the 2 wires that comes off the injectors
