Hi

I'm trying to get the engine timed and have the following marks on the crank:


Before 1|2 | | | TDC | | | 1|2 After

Where's 6 degrees on this? What are the | increments?

you need a dwell angle light.I thought it was 8 degrees??

Increment would be 3 deg. So line up on second line after TDC. You might find it better if you tune it by ear, depending on wear etc your engine might be happier at 5 deg or 7 or something else.

Aha! Cheers.

Yeah, the ear thing's ok, but as she gets hotter or you put her under load, she gets remarkably lumpy.

Maybe the HT leads, maybe the coil, I've also had the Dizzy apart, so maybe the air gap.

Need to get one constant going for now, so if I can start with the timing...
