been looking at FEDERAL & accelera tyres the revews seem to say these are crap budget tyres (about £107 each) i know you get what you pay for, but any suggestions for my P38 obviously i will pay more for a better safer tyre, I don't want to save ££ at the expense of my life!!!

Pirelli Scorpions on my 18" Hurricanes not cheap about £160 a pop fitted but never had any complaints or tramlining with them.

Yea Pirelli are great, always bought them, have a full set on now, but the prices are just stupid

fookin hell! thats cheap! i paid £145 + the dreaded each x 4 for my bfg m/t's (285/75r 16) for me off-roader  (admittedly i claim the VAT through the firm :D)

Camskill don't have fitters near to me (I'm in Heathrow) looking at these guys

tyres with Price Promise Guarantee!

Get what you want from Camskill and pop into Southall Discount Tyres, they don't charge much just for fitting, you could ask for a quote to include tyres from them, I've always found them to be cheap. They did me 4 general grabbers UHP's (excellent tyre) for £400 all in a year or so ago.

Nankang didn't have a good showing around here. Friend fitted a set to his car, didn't last a year. Admittedly its just one instance so probably not representative. Maxis are pretty good, GT (Gajjah Tungal from Indonesia) are not bad - seriously low prices, Kumho from Korea are great and I'm in love with my Yokahamas (don't know if any of these brands are sold in the UK).

Had Hankook on my Hyundai Galloper, good grip and long life. Goodyear Wranglers on the 18" Hurricanes on the P38. Very happy with them, would buy again if not too expensive.

just ta save you wondering what one looks like

I got some General Grabbers on-line and fitted at home for not much more than you're quoting for your cheapies. Nice tyres, good reputation, no particular road noise but a decent tread if the weather takes a turn. Etyres it was.

Blackcircles, General Grabber UHP (road biased 4x4 tyres) £120 each fitted for 18"s. Top quality tyres at a reasonable price.

OK I got the cheap ones RAD NANKANG 109V XL ) I had a look at a tyre review site (have a look very informative site Tyres by Brand | the online tyre guide ) some say they are bad, others say they are the dogs, only way to see is to try them, most say there a good tyre... so I'm having a bash, well you have to at £380 for a whole set, and that includes everything VAT, fitting, valves, its all in, gona try and sell my Pirelli Snow and Ice ones that are on the front on Ebay, they sill have a little life in them yet, so i can claw back a few ££ on them

OK i got the ones on page 1 (NEW RAD NANKANG 109V XL) very nice ride, no noise at all from them they don't "wander" tbh they seem better (in the dry so far) than the Pirelli scorpions but I will have to do a few more miles on them yet to compare with the pirelli's but at £380 for the set all in there a bargain, I kept my front 2 Snow & Ice to sell on ebay, they have 4mm of tread left so i can claw back a few ££ on them I'm hoping anyway

Just got some Syron Premium tyres for 90 quid each home delivery.

German brand only available in one place (tyretraders)

They have options of home delivery, fitted at local garage or moblie fitting.

For ours moblie fitting would have been 460 all in.

size was 255/55/R18.

Went for a run on Sunday 230 mile round trip to Birmingham, these tyres are better than the Pirelli Scorpions ST'si had on definitely... no tram lining at all not once, there definitely quieter as well, I have done about 400 miles on them so far, and the bloody bobbles are still on there as well, so I'm hoping they are going to wear well as well... we will see, but I'm well chuft with them

I've run Nankang N607 all-season tyres on a saloon before - they lasted forever which I don't know is a good thing or bad! :) I didn't have any probs with 'em. There's a lot of tyre snobbery about, some budget tyres are perfectly good.
