I’m not linking this for any other reason than to understand when a 3 becomes a bitsa.

New bulkhead? Defender bonnet hinges, Defender front grill? I’m trying to understand if this offends the puritans or whether there is a place in the market. Is it worth less etc?

Does it matter? It’s worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

Stage 1 had a different front on and people have been modifying Land Rovers for over 70 years. Hardly any are completely standard.

A 109 hard top S3 is hardly the most desirable configuration. I’d say condition is probably more important than fine detail.

That’s all I’m asking. I have acquired a 109” with a pseudo S1 front end, 2.25 diesel engine, and full width defender radiator. I’m torn between putting it back to stock or maybe just using it as is. The underneath is solid and has many new parts, it’s the frock that needs sprucing up.

I never worry what a motor looks like we are all different. Mine has had 2 reincarnations
 
Just drive it, see what annoys you, fix that.

Mines covered in moss, has a TDI, electric fan, lof clutch pedal, much welding. Distressed 90 seats. Suits me. Or it will once the leaks are sorted......
 
The radiator being two foot from the fan annoys me to start with. I’m somewhere between putting the S3 recessed nose back in and the correct radiator, or fitting an electric fan. Then there is the defender doors, in really good condition. I’ll work it out.
