Hi all yet again lol

Right I had a problem with battery drain not so long ago so had the reciver disconnected and all was fine had to use the key to get into my vehicle.

Problem now 3 months on is that i lock the car when i get in from work, go out to unlock it in the morning and the central locking doesnt operate it just unlocks the drivers door.as soon as i open the door the arlarm goes off.(still using the key)

I also get a message on the dash saying that the engine is immobilised.
Ive also disconnected the (brand new battery) put it on charge.
Is it just something that im doing or perhaps the key is loosing sync.

I disconnect and reconnect the battery (fulley charged) lock and unlock with the key and still get the same result.but after the 5th or 6th attempt when i go to unlock the car with the key the central locking works and when it does i know that the old girl will start any ideas would be most welcome thanks in advance

You should be using the FOB, I would guess one of the micro switches in the door lock is about to give up.

... and keeping on old RF receiver disconnected long term may also lead to lock motor burnout, best get a new receiver fitted.

Can I ask why it could cause the motor to burnout?

Only because mine is disconnected but I cannot see how the two are connected. Other the obvious.

If you have disconnected the blue aerial wire, the receiver can go tits up and cycle the lock motors until they burn. If you have completely disconnected the receiver, there is nothing holding the input to the BECM at a stable level so it's possible, at least in theory, for the BECM to cycle the locks at random.
