If I'm lifting a car and going under then I want the highest rated jack and stands I can get... I like to know that any one stand could hold the whole car.
 
As Clarke were mentioned as a good option earlier, here's a lovely shot of my 3T SGS beside my 3T Clarke. Feel free to draw your own conclusions as to which might be more stable and better built!

Looks like one is for home /diy use and the other is for commercial use, what is the price for each one?

I got the little red one too and stable it aint, I only use it as a backup for small stuff I would never entertain using it on my D1 thats what my 3 ton SGS is for:)

Iirc , I got mine for under £50. Agree, It is not the most stable trolley jack, But as a home use DIY jack to lift to put onto axle stands it does the job as long as you make sure you have it on a good base to work from ( same as any other jack in that regards).

I use a low profile SGS 3 ton jack (twin piston, reasonably quick) and 12 ton (2x6) ratchet axle stands, all well made and free next day delivery when I purchased, would have the same again. Martyn
 
5t trolly jack with a wide wheel bas as possible and some 5t or 10t stands. These things need to be over spec on weight

Don't scrimp if it falls over during a lift with no wheel on the damage will cost a lot more than a good jack to repair.
 
I was at the touring cars at brands hatch Sunday they have air jacks fitted, now there is an idea for a p38 and hopefully you would fit them and not have to need them:rolleyes:
