That is right on the edge. Look at the rear wheel arch gap and the rear wheel off the ground on the descent .

That's more what I expected to happen.

That is one lucky driver, it's pretty obvious he didn't know what he was doing, as shown by the brakes locked on all the way down.

And what did those nutters running towards it think that they were going to do?

Rule number one - don't become a casualty yourself.

You could be right, I've just watched it again and I can't see the glow of white knuckles on the steering wheel.

It's a bit like watchin ski sunday as a kid. You watch with baited breath and wait for the **** to hit the fan!

yep seen this one before, pretty ballsy with no cage,,think the defender drver was sooooo lucky, dont think it was skill unlike this driver,,now thats skill

well i must say, in order:

1. yes, fabulous demonstration of land rovers intelligent terrain response working in perhaps the most perfect situation for a convincing demonstration. big tyres and bodylifts for mud, but electronics have got it nailed here. touch too much braking by the RRS at the bottom though i thought. if i was him, that close to the bottom id be acclerating to get out of it asap! i imagine a beam axle vehicle could manage it with big soft tyres, axle lockers and very low ratios - basically a rock crawler then! :)

2. very stupid for the 110 driver to even attempt it. roof rack wa a no-no for starters (raised CofG) and yeah generally too much accelerating and then too much breaking. should have attempted it at near tickover, if stalled then slowly rolled down in reverse, wheels straight. VERY lucky escape. might have rolled it getting it out of its resting place though anyway :D

3. awesome. lots of luck involved i reckon either way, but either VERY lucky driver, or highly skilled/practiced regular who was allowed to drive home one more time by the man upstairs.

great vide peeps, cheers :)

i reckon the hill climb one was defo skill,by the driver ,the way he handled it was superb, but also noisy it could of turnd out nasty no matter how much skill he had, slightly different angle or even not getting the tyres to grip and ime afraid it would of been game over,,so yes a combination of skill and good luck on that one,a lesser driver could easily be dead....totally agree with your above comments....

If I'd tried that in mine it would have gone down like a rollercoaster...just held on and waited till it stopped:crazy_driver:

Hi there, I saw a new 110 at Nellies Dell in Hampshire doing something similar except there were holes where cars had spun up their wheels and dug holes and the 110 was waving wheels around and still not losing it going up or down. The technolgy can make us all driving gods:):):)

Cheers
