yes thanks ! Had the same one for 6 years. Have you ever been in a l322 you will be tempted. :p:D
I've been in an L322, convinced me that I don't want one, German park bench hard seats, knobbly ride, dash lit up like a fecking Christmas tree, add all the electronic problems and the price of parts and there is not a lot to like.:p:D

The p38 is full of problems aswell even more so as its older, and the price of parts are the same.

Nowhere near as troublesome as the L322 and as for parts, one suspension leg for the L322 costs as much as a full set for the P38, don't even mention injectors or watercooled alternator abominations:p

These P38/L322 threads reflect part of what's going on in my head right now only late D2's and Classics are in the mix too. I seriously can't make up my mind about my next daily driver, it does my head in so much sometimes I start looking at XC90's just to get a break! :(

Xc90 ?! Lmao they are just as troublesome !

Yeah ok I won't, I look at all sorts of normal cars too I just have to clear my head of RR's sometimes - it always comes back to LR's though. Probably end up with another P38 if I can find a late diesel one in good nick..

XC90s are great when they're working - I think they are even less reliable than L322s! I'd have one but I wouldn't expect it to last - the transmissions in particular are awfully fragile.

I think with the XC90 transmissions, it's only the T6 petrol versions that suffer. Apparently it's an old GM box whereas the Diesel uses an Aisin Warner box - totally different. They had to use the GM box on the end of the straight 6 as it was the only one they could get that would fit. The American Volvo forums are full of tales of woe on transmissions but of course they're all petrol over there.

Look out!

I have an XC90 and a 2001 gorgeous V8 P38 ..... absolutely no comparison between the two.

The XC90 is just a "nice car" where the P38 is totally involving and magical ...

What's good about the XC90? Plenty of airbags, easy to drive, reasonably comfortable ... nice to look at. 7 seats, good a/c.

Pretty much as complex as a P38 except for the suspension.

Yes, had one for 6 months.

Still like the P38 for comfort

Too right, I had a regular lift to work in a 322 for about 2 months and realised they'd gone the same way as the D3 inside it's no more comfortable than a CX-5 or a Sportage! I hope the 405 is better...?
