Went to play at Boxgrove Pay and Play Sunday just gone
LINKY
Met cartoonhead at sainsbury's for 10am and then convoyed the whole 10 minute drive to the site to meet a couple of other guys I've got to know through the local P&P's
Considering there was no rain the week before the place was quite dry - until you got into what is normally the "winching area" which I can only liken to custard - a nice solid skin on it, drive onto certain area's and you break the skin and end up in the gooey stuff - at one point upto the door handles!
Not a huge amount of pics, I believe cartoonhead has some footage and so does my mate on his phone so when I work out how to merge all the crappy little vids into one i'll upload em onto youtube and post a linky!
Sunday was a testing day for me, to see how the set up works etc and I can confirm - I need more lift! Those 35's nearly made mince meat of my noo arches so I now have the decision of down sizing to 33's or going higher - my only issue is roof clearance on the tight area's off road and on the lanes
Also I need to give gwyn lewis a ring and get some of his dislocation cones with the hooks, I have some without the hooks which lost an hour of the day jacking the body up and standing on the wheel to get the spring back in!
The drive home also highlighted a horrible wobbly/juddering sensation through the whole car and noticably through the steering wheel.
I'm thinking bushes so I've taken a bit of a gamble as I know the poly bush kits are a bit like marmite on here and taking that into account I've found a bearmach polybush kit with a 60k/3 year warranty on it for just under 90 quid (can't justify spending 300 quid on bushes!)
SO in theory this poly bush kit will last me 3 years or I should get a replacement or money back - i'm dippin me toes in and I'll let you all know how it goes!
anyway - i'll stop rambling and get to the interesting bit....
Came out the woodland to be faced with this:
my response... POWOARRRRRRR
which resulted in the above - and from a distance:
Earlier on in the day the missus had a drive of it for the first time - let her do some puddle splashing and a couple of small steep climbs/decents and a couple of bigger but not so steep climbs/decents which she did very well amongst lots of shrieking
Towards the end of the day got a tad silly
my mates truck cab 90 (which is on 37 inch maxxis trepadors on beadlocker rims) getting well n truely stuck:
and finally - home, safe and sound after washing the disco's belly:
