I've been racking me brain cell, but I can't remember a single occasion when any of my proper Landys has broken down and failed to get me to where I wanted to go or needed recovery. Thats 3 Series Landys, a 90 N/A, a 200 TDi and a Puma over 33 years and probably a third of a million miles.

The 2 Gaylanders were a different story......

Well, not sure if it counts as working propper, and it's due for a good service.....

however, my '96 Disco 300TDi has just clocked up 38000 miles :)

having just posted on the "who's is broke" thread about my broken Disco1, I can also post here that the FL2 is A-OK.

well mines only a bit broke so i can be on this fred too:p she still runs .....it's just stopping which is a bit erm interesting:eek:

But for how long?
Well, its been fine since it last (& only time) time it broke-down...
Pity it was at the furthest point I'd ever driven away from home...(on the Slovakian/Hungry border)....Nearest authorised repair shop (to fix a 50p plastic clip that broke & stopped me selecting 2nd, 4th, 6th & Reverse gears) was over 400km (4.5hr) drive away...

The family cars...
Series 2a - Working....and....what...there are no oil stains anymore since I rebuilt the engine...a first for me!
The Range Rover V8 beast - daily car - running prrrrrrrfectly after change of spark plugs.
The standard Range Rover V8 - daily car - never misses a beat

:D

Series IIA is running fine as it always has. Nice dent in the front wing (its now about 4 inches shorter) after running into a tree offroading. But runs perfectly, as always had.

No problems here. I really don't know where this sh1t about landies being unreliable comes from.

mines just hit 280000...and apart from 1 flat tyre it has never broken down, or let me down... bits do fall off it from time to time...but it doesnt seem to miss them... an who cares if the doors open doin 80 down the M1...im just glad it still does 80...

mburton: sounds like fun! Could you not bodge a clip together out of something?

Didnt know it was a clip at the time...I just knew I'd driven the last 30mins to Spiska Nova Ves with only 3 gears...

The following day I was out mountain-biking:D......so I let the "Experts" sort it out....
