ive not long bought my td5, put my list of things to do together and first on the list the egr,
i whipped it off and bloody heck i could believe how bad it was in there, the car has done 137,000 miles, the inlet manifold was so gunked up i couldnt even see the MAP sensor, i took a picture OF the MAP sensor after i cleaned in back in its places,
the ports on the manifold were so clogged up i couldnt fit a finger down them so no idea how the car was breathing,
anyway i cleaned it all out with a few litres of spirit and a bottle brush then jet washed, fitted an EGR blanking kit, and wow the car feels much better to drive,
it goes to show how bad things can get if you dont look after your engine
