Fine for the service stuff , but as price is more important than ever these days I have a nasty feeling more people will HAVE to buy there ****te .

Bought a replacement footwell panel, I mean how difficult could that be to get right. Well, too frickin' difficult for them. Took loads of smacking with my big hammer to get 'im to fit. First and last ****-part I'll get.

Not sure where to post this but I received an e-mail today from LR Direct, who supply Britpart and other stuff, that they have a springtime sale on just now.

They do sell lots of rubbish and every time I call them to notify them of a severe quality issue, and I quote "They have never heard of that fault before".
But next time I order the same part it has the same issue.

Some stuff is great from Britpart, but anything critical you need to order the better quality.....

They do run better quality items ending in 'G' as a rule and also OEM stuff.

But it's down to Budget and at the moment people don't really want to spend the money so they want it fixed as cheap as possible.

You get what you pay for, and no one was ever sorry for buying the best.

However the main stealer is way off the other end of the scale.
They sell stuff for a price they pluck out the air, treble and add some tax, and then some VAT! Daylight robbery!!!!

Bought a few bushes off them and some drilled and grooved brake discs. No problems with what I have bought so far.

dont get me started :frusty: 2 months ago got a ****part lift pump for the old 90 (200tdi disco engine) fitted it and engine would'nt run turned out it was faulty , contacted the seller they replaced it . turns out the replacement was faulty intermitantly :mad:now thats gone tits up:frusty:
in my defence (buying **** part in the first place) only use the landy once a month if i'm lucky :(

2 months ago , i fitted two track rod ends , today felt a knock , and guess what, THERE ****ED... PILE OF ****...

Delphi are Fooking awesome never had a problem with them. My personal opinion of britpart is, don't frigging go there of it can be avoided.

I've had wheel bearings fail
Panels that don't fit
Water pump that destroyed itself

So I don't think I will ever use them againe

Britpart are an enigma. Just got their catalogue and it must cost a lot of money to produce. They clearly have a huge customer base so can everything be as bad as so many people say? I would have thought trading standards would have decimated them by now. My local LR garage seems to use them for most of their parts too. It's a worry that they get do much bad feedback from so many people. If you're on a budget there really seems to be little alternative for stuff?!

I wonder if it's the usual story....

You have a bad experience with something/someone, you tell everyone you meet!

You have a good experience.... you hardly say a word about it, except to maybe two or three people?

Used to happen like that when I worked in the Motor Trade (many years ago)

Praise is more difficult to acheive than criticism. It's what we do.....:(

Always wondered about this supplier, surely they can't be that bad.

Then changed fuel lift pump (well indi garage did) then within four months spotted oil dripping down the block. Now, you can call me old fashioned, but I prefer to keep the oil in the engine, not on my drive. Replaced the drippy unit with another (Britpart) and guess what, yes it too let oil out.

Changed again for an alternative make (can't remember whose, but way better quality) and it's still there after two years.

OK, this is only one component and whilst it did it's job of moving fuel about I did feel it should not let oil out. As the garage fitted the pumps I assume they sent the two back, but doubt it as the items are relatively low value. Therefore Britpart would not know about a problem.

However I have had confidence shaken a bit so will be circumspect what I buy from Britpart. I intend to restrict purchases to branded items that Britpart do not supply under their own label.
