Having owned a p38 which imho are unreliable crap and I had relatively few problems a rrs is the new winner surpassing even a k series freelander.

The advice if you must buy chav range rover is compulsory warranty.

Holy thread resurrection Fanny.:D

Iv been told its the oil pump looses some pressure due to wear, feeding two turbos and the engine .When some garages replace turbos they fail soon after because the oil pump is not changed.... On the v8 diesel.;)

Turbo's on a l322 are quite easy.

On the TDV8 sport, It's probably one of the worst jobs you could wish to do. To supply & replace both turbo's you won't get any change out of £5.5k. I've known garage costs going nearer to £7k.

No Idea, but this vid is the usual way to access the turbos.

that is fu© king ridiculous. You can see most of these with this engine and requiring this kind of procedure ending up on eBay mis advertised or going for peanuts because some poor git after its ten years old cant justify 15hrs labour, or... It ends up botched by some twæt who cut something out of it the to do a shït job of repairing it.
I think all these rr's are bloody ace, this model will get rare fast......

door shut,

jammed my barstool fingers and

leaving...x

have a l322 2007 vogue
drivers side turbo going.
what I have gathered from this thread
l322 is easier to do no body off
get to it from wheel arch lining removal
can be done without lifting off the floor
any other nasty bits to look out for?
an idea of how long to do the job
would be good
thanks to you all

a very interesting video and by the sounds of it a pig to do

as a side note mine is the TDV6 2.7 engine and was suprising how many garages told me that if i needed the rear belt changing the body needed to come off

which of course isn’t true , rear belt can be replaced in less than and hour, know the turbo can also be replaced without removing the body , tight i grant u ;):D

Thanks for that
the sport is different i believe from reading bits
did have a look at u t but there wasn't anything on the vogue
garages are a bit like that want to protect income most likely

Not sure if it helps but I’ve heard of a guy in Leeds/Huddersfield area that can do the 3.0 diesel turbo without removing the body. Apparently I’m told the problem is that the turbo is secured on studs and once the nuts are undone there isn’t room to slide the turbo off, apparently this guy undoes the nuts and slides the turbo as far as it will go and then cuts the studs and removes turbo, he then removes the remnants of the studs ‘using stilsons or the like I suppose’ when he refits the turbo he uses bolts/set screws being able to offer up the turbo with said bolts already in the required slots/holes. It’s all a bit beyond me but I suppose some of the highly knowledgeable LR gurus on here would know if it’s plausable

hi

yes that is right:)

take out the studs and drill the threads out to 8mm. then use 2x M8 flange bolts to refit

Interesting tip gstuart
whether it applies to mine or not don't know as yet but either way could be handy to know
will let you know how it goes with mine time and aggro wise
