Hi all,

Just limped home today with a major problem. Down on power & a hell of a vibration/noise at 2350rpm sounds very bad. Checked to make sure turbo fan blades are alright & everything there look good, blades rotate without any major end float!!!!

Any ideas? This baby has cost me a fortune in repairs so far, starting to feel like I should never have bought the bloody thing...........
HELP

Is there an engine management light on?

It sounds like turbo overboosting to me. This is generally caused by the wastegate sticking.

Check the wastegate is free and that the solenoid isn't sticking.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply, no I've got no engine management lights on. I will check to see if the wastegate is operating.

Thanks for the advice

what year is your landy? Just wondering if the oil pump bolt has come loose?

Hi
Thanks again for your help. Its a 51 reg with 100k on the clock. I still haven't got round to working on her. Had to park her up, hopefully I'll get a chance at the weekend to check her over?
What bolt in the oil pump?

Thanks again

C

Even though you have changed the injector harness there is still a fair chance that you have some residual oil tracking down the engine harness. This takes a few cleans every so often. There will be alot of oil that has to run through.

Have a look at the red plug on the ECU.

Cheers, Andy
