hi I’ve a 2000 td5 ran out of fuel got some diesel but then never ran again,
I tried to bleed everything had fuel everywhere
Then did the purge sequence several times but nothing just flew over
I managed to start it on easy start but had to keep it above 2500 or just died out,

Since then a month ago iv changed most things fuel side
FPR is the fuel presure regulator on the head where the 5'th glow plug should be, there is a strainer beneath it nr 5 in the link, but if you remove the FPR you'll need new gasket nr 4 cos it's not reusable eventually new oring nr 6, scroll to the bottom http://new.lrcat.com/#!/1232/37503/37504/2891 if you click on the blue number you get the part number
Hi
Still no further....I managed to get strainer out as per your instructions thanks,
It looked a bit of **** n it right at the bottom leaves it all out replaced with new gasket and o ring
Did the purge thing 4 times
Just the same,,
So thought with there been **** in there I’d try replace the FPR completely,
Got a new one and another gasket o ring,,
Changed it all did the prime thing at least 8 times,,just the same turns over and quick battery’s fully charged,
Just nothing not even a slight cough
Give it some easy start more than I’d like knocks a bit, then it will struggle but go after 2500 rpm
Then if I keep it Reving above that it stays running revs to redline fine,
If I slowly let it down to idle it will stay running just
If I give it gas again it struggles back up to 2500 then flys to redline,
If I let it stop it won’t start again,,

Really would be grateful for any ideas or anyone know where I could get it plugged in near Bradford
Thanks
Lee

Two things to do

1) Replace injector seals and washers GENUINE ONLY

If still no luck

2) Fuel pump VDO only

The strange thing in this whole happening is that the symptom occured after it ran out of fuel so it leeds to a fuel supply issue but following your other thread you kind'a ruled out everything in that area so it might be something coincidental which can be ruled out only with tester as to not throw money all over the place

Thanks Iv been starting to think the same it has been started a fair few times on easy start
And revs high when does start, wondering if that may have done something,
Il look up the link thanks again,

Just make 100% sure that you didnt mix up pipes at the pump when you replaced it also if the fittings are well seated back in theyr's places cos it happened to others and the symptoms are very like you described, the pipes should be connected as follows from left to right white-green-blue-black
