my td5 will not kick into life straight away ,it seems like no fuel, after it has started it is fine for the rest of the day.is this anything to do with fuel presure.?any ideas will be gratefull.thanks.

could be lots of things. most likely an electronic problem with a sensor/solanoid/fuel device.

Check the fuel filter is 100% tight. If in tank pump whines excessively this can indicate air ingress. If it whines all the time the filter head has a valve inside it that falls apart and can restrict flow around the system.Repair in this case is the only cure. Failing this air can get in at the back of the head via the fuel pressure regulator... it usually leaks a little fuel if there is a problem. Check filter drain is also tight and rubber seal is fitted, sometimes the threads canbe stripped on these. Owt else and your in dealer territory..

thanks for the info .i will check the filter and regulator .the tank pump does whine alot and does sound quite noisey first thing in the morning,
