Hi there guys,

Just got my first Landy (last Thursday) - a 2003 90 TD5 CSW! :D

She is a beauty, although as expected there are a few things that need ironing out...

I have noticed that the volumetric sensor for the alarm does not appear to be working. I left the dogs in the back of it at the weekend and it did not set the alarm off..

I have also tried sitting in the car just now, locked it with the remote and jumped/danced around in the back and no alarm noises...

The doors are locking and I get three flashes from the indicators. The dash light also flashes red slowly. So it just seems as if the volumetric is not working.. I am paranoid that it is going to get nicked so I want to look at getting this sorted asap. It seems like an odd thing to break - has anyone heard of this before or got any other tests i could try before trying to replace the sensor?

thanks in advance!

Get a nanocom and see if the sensor is enabled. Or find someone who has one, and see if they'll take a look.

Oh and congrats on the new rover! The Td5 is fun.

Took it to garage today and it turns out its the ultrasonic volumetric sensor that's gone...

£170+vat from land rover! Ouch!

Glad you got it sorted!

Here's the link to nanocom...

If you like to tinker and will keep the td5 for a while (and want to save on shop fees), it's a good investment. Pricey, yes; but it's saved me a lot in diagnosing errors.

Have you introduced your td5 and yourself in the intro section yet? That reminds me... I need to do that as well.

garage talking out the arse

That little sensor above the drivers seat belt only detects breaking glass

Save your £170

Thanks for the reply.

Is this 100% accurate?

The manual says that passengers in the vehicle should set it off and you have to disarm it if leaving someone in there?

when I was in the car I was dancing around like a madman (more than breaking glass would move) and nothing was happening..?

Ill get a reclaimed/vintage one, not £170 new one!

Thanks for help

Fair dos, I just don't understand why the manual says this ImageUploadedByTapatalk1376553471.249740.jpg
