Fitting a shiny new turbo at the moment, and it was recommended that I crank over the engine without it firing until oil can be seen coming out the oil drain pipe.

What's the best way to stop the engine firing whilst cranking?

Done a few searches and didn't find the answer yet.. Thanks in advance

Not heard of doing that before.
You can stop the engine firing by unplugging the injector harness plug at the front of the head.
Not much will happen with the turbo until the engine fires, so I wouldn't bother trying to turn it over with the drain pipe unplugged, which potentially could get pretty messy!
