Hey!

I have been doing some work yesterday on this one and good news is that the issue was with the driveshaft being cooked, after replacing with one that I could get there and then (GSP) not sure if it is any good, that resolve the problem, only problem I got now is the exhaust rubbing on the IRD Pinion which makes a nice clunk when letting off power or accelerating.



You can hear the driveshaft is cooked.

Finally managed to get her down the motorway did 100 Miles yesterday going to do some more today to bed in the new clutch, but finally she is going! Need some new engine mounts though!!!
 
Update!

200 miles done and I have fixed the exhaust issue by removing and re-fitting the engine mounts on the right order.

However it may be the new engine but I'm not sure if it's safe to drive, when stationary the temp guage goes up to temp and stays there but when I start driving its all over the show, up down up down sometimes all the way down, I'm hoping this is the sensor not the thermostat as of rather not be driving it frozen all the time haha!

Any thoughts as after I stop it sorts itself out again and goes back up, it's this likely to be the thermostat being stuck open?

I don't even know the the thermostat is...
 
Sounds like the temp sensor or wiring. Have you fitted the front thermostat mod with extra Y shaped pipe as fitted to later vehicles? I think the 2004 car would have had this mod.

But intermittent gauge points to sensor or wiring.
 
I have not fitted that, nor heard of it, though while searching I found:

Is this it? To be fair I think the temp sensor got dripped on with quite hot coolant as it was a little loose when putting the whole engine together so easily could've damaged it.
 
Another Update!

300 Miles all seems good, no coolant loss, realised how expensive she in on fuel compared to the Nissan Note's 60+ MPG but fun none-the-less, we agreed though that we would take this 50mm front and 60mm rear lift kit off though, it is too much and not really worth the wear it puts on the driveshafts, instead we will at a later date get some coils that are 20mm at the front and 30mm at the back, it makes more sense that way.

Most this reasoning was due to the fact she feels like a HUGE BOAT to drive especially with the current camber which we were going to sort but if we are removing the lift kit not much point, all I need now to finish her up is the bolt to hold the exhaust on, but that is confusing as my previous exhaust had 2 bolt holes to mount but this one has 1 with a welded square nut already on it?

Anyone know what that is and what bolts I need? all I can find on the parts site is the 2 bolt version...
 
It's been repaired I expect.

Best to have 2 bolts and brass nuts, then if they break they can be changed easily.

Drill out ??

I thought you meant the manifold end.

Don't know of bolts on hangers. Normally hanger is welded to exhaust and goes into rubber hanger.

I've highlighted those two bolt holes I am talking about which mine does not have, it is supposed to bolt to the IRD to stop it swinging into the prop pinion and oil pan which mine is currently doing...

That is what mine looks like, it fits in the hangers, bolts up nicely all expect that one hole which has a threaded square nut on one side like I thread something into it?
