Another update:

So since last time i updated we have managed to stop the TDG cutting out after 7-10 minutes, this time we swapped the fuel fliter housing, even though we had swapped it 18 months ago, so yes it now does not stall, however the latest woe is it loses power after 50mph.
i have no idea what to try next seems i've done everything, has anybody else had the lose power issue and fixed it ??

Just wondered, at any time have you put a pressure gauge into the fuel pressure regulator? In tank pump should be supplying pressure to the regulator which then maintains a steady 4 bars into the head where it is fed to the injectors.
The regulators fail, but there are Bosch ones available on tbay.
If you do need to replace it dont buy the whole housing and pipe work just the regulator.

Did you check change or clean the small mesh filter in the cylinder head block behind the FPR while you had it off.

I had something similar many years ago on a Rover SD1 2600. It was crap in the fuel tank that gradually choked the intake to the fuel pump stopping the engine. After 10 minutes or so the crap had fallen out of the intake and it would start again, only to stop 10 minutes later.

Yes i had the fuel tank cleaned out last year so hopefully no more gunk in there..

Fuel starvation or air in the fuel? You seem to have changed out the major components, perhaps air is getting in through a fuel line.
When it stops and refuses to run have you bled the system before trying to restart? If it starts immediately after an auto bleed cycle your issue could be air rather than fuel starvation.

The FPR service kits I have seen online do not show the mesh filter I mentioned, it sits in the cylinder head inlet behind the FPR, its a small mesh tube type filter that is inserted into the fuel inlet hole and sits flush with the cylinder head.

You can buy that filter, but check out the price...
If you take out the o ring in the head be careful if you loose the little filter it hurts.

Dont know about the td5 but just done a little mesh filter on the mazda bongo that would not go above 2500rpm and all sorted now. It just needed cleaned.
 
FPR Gauze filer, to change it you will have to buy new gasket and O ring, its a bugger to do as FPR has to be removed. Check out video below.

Managed to find the Filter MAE100010, Does anybody have the correct code for the 'O' ring please?
 
OK ive told them to take it off the FPR and have a look, last time it was off the FPR for the service kit, they said there wasnt a mesh filter in there, anyway by the by, one more thing that i thought might be worth a mention is that during its time in the garage the MOT has expired so to enable more road tests we agreed to run it through an mot as the problem now only occurs over 50mph, the garage says it failed massively on the emissions test!!! Just thought it was worth a mention as it may be related?
