My 2001 td5 broke down a few weeks ago it was turning over but not starting, I carried out a fuel purge and could hear a hissing noise by the fuel pressure regulator. I changed this and now no hissing. It had some oil at the ecu so I changed the injector loom and cleaned the ecu. so it now reluctantly starts and runs ok for 10 to 20 seconds then cuts out and wont start again unless I leave it for a couple of hours. I changed the fuel pump about 18 months ago (I hope its ok), and fitted a new fuel filter with the complete filter housing last week as the old housing was old and corroded. Can anyone advise the next step?
