hi everyone, yet again more fuel problems with my Td5!!!
the engine started to run lumpy the other night (just like running on only 4 cylinders!!) I got it home stopped the engine and restarted it it was running fine:confused: and ran fine great till today when this happened again:mad:
i stopped and restarted and it ran fine for a few miles then again started running lumpy!!
I have recently fixed a leaky fuel line which I have checked along with the other fuel lines and everything seems fine!
so has anyone got any ideas or advice for which way to go from here???
I have heard that oil contamination in the injector wiring loom could be to blame??
any help would be greatly appreciated...

Hello mate yeah same happened with mine it cut to 4 cylinders and when restarted was fine for a while, its oil in the injector wiring all you need a new injection wiring harness only about £40 just take off rocker cover its under there

Easy way to check is pull the cu and see if when u turn it upside down whether oil pees out or not.

thanks for all your replies lads!
after a little investigation it looks like the injector harness is goosed! the connector under the rocker cover was full of oil so looks like a replacement part to order!

just a thought but never had a td5 rocker cover off before, is it possible to remove the harness and clean it off with brake safe, or is that a no no.

my next question lads is...... can anyone recomend a supplier for the injector harness and I also require WJP1081100 fuel line cluster for the rear end (tank to filter) all the sites I look on don't list this part??? but I gather there's been a supply problem! if anyone knows where I can get my mitts on them plese let me know!!

Mine had the exact same symptoms and it was the injector harness full of oil. I got one from local indy for 30'odd quid. Paddock sell 'em too.

You need to clean the oil out of the ECU red plug too. Also I found the oil had found its way into the AFM plug so I cleaned that out too. I just used switch contact cleaner, but any thinners thats not too strong should be OK, eg panel wipe.

Morning all, same problem ,replacing the injector wiring harness, easy enough job...!! Or would I be better paying a mechanic to do this and roughly how much should this cost?. Any advise much needed thank you.

its easy enough to do yourself, but if you go the garage route should only be an hours labour, and thats with them having a brew
