My td5 is giving me grief, on reading the Haynes manual it says the head cannot be skimmed, was thinking of getting rid when I contacted Ian from autotech_cylinder_heads, not only did he confirm that they can be skimmed, he offers an exchange head ,all prepared with a built up area around the known cracking area (diesel in oil) that is then CNC machined. All comes with a 12 month guarantee on the head, hope this helps anyone with the same problem.

have you had problems with them? it seems difficult finding quality work now,adays.

They seem to be good. My comments was about what the haynes manual said

oh, sorry i miss understood, yes he seemed very helpfull on the phone and backs up his heads with a 12 month warrenty. and yes again, not the first time i have found fault with a haynes manual.

Hi so did you buy the head from Autotech then?
Ive seen their ads on eBay, not found much on line, in the way of feedback though.
