Have a look at the injector loom (where the oil leaks out from) and remove the injector plug closest to the exit point. Get a small screwdriver and force the contacts closer together. This is, apparently, a common source of TD5s misfiring. See if that makes it any better.

I had a similar problem with aprevious Disco and it turned out the hose had come off the turbo - all the garage needed to do was clip it back on. I'm not saying that's your problem but you need to check out the turbo if you are loosing power like you say.

Problem solved today.
I orderd a de-cat pipe, fitted it and now it goes like stink, sounds better too. Unfortunately land rover wont take the MAF sensor back as i had fitted it, darn!
Been a bit of a learning curve this, now i know that i have an oil leak into the ECU, which i appear to of court early enough to do some thing about it and change the harness. Unfortunately over the weekend ive been hit with a bill for nearly a grand on the wifes car, should really sell the landy and get something cheaper but i just dont hink i can do it.

glad you finally got it sorted.:) Just out of curiosity what did landrover charge you for a maf?

what are you doing with your old one?

They charged me 90 quid including vat. Will probably put the old one back on and sell the other

they go for about £45 on ebay. To be honest your best bet would probably be to keep it as is and hold your old one back as a spare.

yu measured it then?

yu do realise that anything over 2metres hasnt been proven to work?

It's 1m from the driverside floor up the B pillar. It's then 1.2m from the top of the door to the rear bulkhead. I'd then need to mount it in the rear load area and need some slack an an exit from the battery box. That makes 2.5m min. Looks like I won't be relocating my ecu then.:(

there is ways and means :)

i'm wondering if the best thing for me to do is to leave it where it is and mount it in a watertight box. I have plenty of room for an oversized box to prevent it getting too hot.:(

Hi, how much was the de cat pipe... you seem to have had the same issues that i am currently having but mine is when i am towing usually after 20 mins on the road.... looses power
