So I’m getting there with my “new to me” disco (2004 TD5) with the help from this forum.
ACE leak turned out to be a loose banjo bolt.
The apparent auxiliary belt squealing was traced to a manifold issue, not a warped manifold but a loose one, 2 nuts loose, I missing, possibly after a refit from a warped manifold but who knows.
Next on the list is a hunting/misfire at higher revs.
I did have a “driver demand 1” fault and an overboost fault but both gone now the manifold is sorted so no faults now on Hawkeye.
If I slowly push the throttle I get a constant regular hunting at around 50% to 80% throttle, if I floor it I get a viscous misfire, not like a cylinder dropping, more like 5 cylinders dropping. I’ve checked the waste gate and it moves if I grip it with pliers, I’m assuming that’s correct as my other disco is the same. I’ve driven with the air flow metre disconnected with no difference, map sensor disconnected was fine but so sluggish it was like using maybe 1/3 throttle so wasn’t surprised I had no misfire.
I don’t want to throw parts at it in the off chance but would appreciate suggestions as to where to look next?
Fuel pump is a thought but an expensive gamble.
 
Forgot to mention no oil on the ecu connector, any other way to check ? Was this an issue through the life of the D2’s mines quite a late one so was hoping I’d avoid that potential issue
 
Make sure that the wastegate modulator pipes are all intact and well connected... eventually remove fuse F2 and drive it so, if it's better replace the modulator, if no change you'll have to watch live data for manifold pressure when the symptom occurs

My loom looked ok but had failed. Drove to Wales, did strata and a few other lanes. On the way back to camp it developed a rough idle and low power which very quickly became it loosing all power and dying as we pulled into the camp site. When presented with anything more than a very very light touch on the throttle it would shudder to a hault. Was a challenging drive home from Wales to Essex! Missed two days laning too. Probably worth carrying a spare.
 
I believe the nanocom was showing misfire faults now I think about it. I could reach about 40mph if I was careful, we avoided major roads and went through towns the whole way home. Stressful, but still feel a sense of achievement that I limped her home. Sounds similar to your issue but not quite the same. In fact my avatar was from that trip at the start of strata.
 
So got to the bottom of my misfire today, was a split in the vacuum pipe going from the boost pipe, can’t believe I hadn’t seen it before but I guess it’s quite hidden
that statement makes no sense to mee , sorry, there's no vacuum involved in the boost :confused:
 
Sorry that’s my old school diy mechanics, basically the small pipe that connects from the boost pipe to the thingymabob that has 2 other small pipes attached to it.

the ''the thingymabob" might be the wastegate modulator and even then there's no vacuum involved despite of the wrong description from RAVE, it's only about pressure there

Injector seals. Change all 5 cause that was my problem
After i changed ECU injector wiring harness fuel pump. Fuel pump regulator and fuel filter housing????
