neilly Well-Known Member Feb 21, 2017 #2 Hi Val, Start by checking your engine number. It is on the block, but should also be on your V5 document. For the age of yours it should be a 10P engine. Double check that and let us know what it says. Cheers

The car is at the garage now and I've instructed them to remove head and inspect, then we go from there depending what they find. Val.

V Val. h Active Member Mar 22, 2017 #4 Back on the road now. Head gasket was the problem, brought on by a weeping hose at the back of the head. Luckily the head was ok. Pressure tested and skimmed 6 thou. Thanks for the the help and advice guys. Val.
