The most I would get in was 65 when it showed empty.

Yeah, sounds very much like you have a different fuel pump. Have you removed the pump? They're a right pain to put back in because they spring back up and the retaining ring doesn't catch the thread too well! lol

Yes I did, it took two of us to put it in.

The previous owner forgot to put the rubber seal ring in. We fitted that too.
