Iv just replaced a td5 blown engine. The engine i put in will not start.
it turns over but will not fire up.

any info would be great. Thanks

did you purge the fuel system... if not put ignition on, depress the throttle 5 times then wait untill the MIL warning stops

Connected the crank sensor? Engine loom not damaged? Got compression? Turning over on the starter? Immobiliser light flashing/steady? We need a bit more detail......

yes crank sensor connected, engine loom is ok. there is compression, yes turning over on starter. no immobiliser fitted. everything plugged in as it sould.

check voltage on battery while you crank it.... even if it turns but you have below 11V then it wont start... make sure you have enough "juice" in the battery.... and that you have good fuel pressure after the FPR...and press the inertia switch just to make sure.... worth a check fuse F1 in engine bay too

I know it sounds daft but have you connected the injector loom as I did this once and forgot to connect it. Took me a fair while to find it. :boom:

Or unplug everything, clean contacts where possible and plug it back together again. It may not make a difference but at least it feels like you're doing something! Don't forget also, TD5s seem to be rather prone to physical deterioration of the wiring looms; chafing, loss of continuity and so on, even if they look OK at a casual glance. So maybe something's got moved and is not transmitting a signal any more.
