Hi guys. I got a 2002 discovery TD5. Theres no CDL on it but would like to fit it. Is it just a simple matter of fitting a transfer box with diff lock in it and fitting the linkage and lever. Its a manual gearbox in it. Any advice would be great. p.s I had a td5 with diff lock prior to this and i loved the cdl

@jamesmartin will probably be able to help with this.

I don't think you need to change the transfer box, you just have to buy the linkage and fit it....im not 100% though!

It would all depend on whether or not the internals are installed in the T-box.
The usual way to find out is to feel for the actuating spigot on the top of the T-box. You should be able to find it at the front end of the box, above the front output shaft .

Yeah i checked it but i haven't got the spigot on mine. Would i just have to buy a transfer box then and fit the linkage? I hear people fitting the 300 linkage? Why not the td5 one?

Yes, that would mean replacing the T-Box for one with the CDL internals in it.
The 300tdi linkage can be used with a bit of re-engineering, but the D2 linkage in available from a number of outlets, including Ashcroft for about 350 quid.
If you're going to the expense of a replacement T-Box, it would make sense to me to use the D2 linkage too.
