might have been but it didnt look so... he bought it this way but not from new, in this case my apologies though the overboost symptom is caused by not working wastegate IMO

I have spoken to the landrover garage and they believe it's the fuel pump not working properly. It's booked in on Thursday for a proper diagnosis.
Do you agree this could be the cause of lack of power mid/high revs in each gear even when gently pushing the accelerator?

all depends
are you making power down low ie are you boosting under load .
without knowing boost reading or fuel pressure readings as you mentioned in the first post you can feel the turbo kick in an pulls nice

before you take your vehicle in this gives you time to mark things so when you get the bill you know what has been tampered with just saying

That's what I'm worried about. How much would you expert for a new fuel pump + fitment?

Yeah it definatly boosts to start with them dies.

I'll also mention the waste gate too.

Right so hot the lr back. Basically the owner previous to me had turned the boost up and not enough air was getting through the air filter. So they took the filter out and get Preston works fine. Thing is I need a good air filter. Any recommendations? If this doesn't work then I'll turn boost down via the waste gate. Hopefully that's straight forward enough. Also got a new MAF AND A BOOST PIPE WAS collapsing. But the culprit was the panel filter.

Put the KnN air filter today. And now it works perfectly. No lag and more boost. The is for all your help. Just shows that the KnN filters do actually work!

Still does not answer the question why yours needs the k&n filter when thousands of others do not???

Cheers

15 threads were showing. Turbo boost had been turned up. A collapsing hose, a faulty MAF all contributed. Not enough air was getting in. I will turn the boost down a tad when I've got time. But at the moment I am just enjoying it.

I'm sure I mentioned it in a previous post.

turning up the boost should still have not any affect using the original filter best to fix the collapsing hose as it may get weaker over time

also waste gate rod length should never adjust this unless there is a boost gauge installed

True, youve still may not have found the underlying cause.

My 90 was running 18psi before a map or any other mods, ran perfectly for the whole time I had it (engine wise)

Though youve replaced a collapsed hose and a new MAF, id go back to the standard filter and see if it happens again
