Hi all.

I have bought a really tidy TD5 defender bonnet ridiculously cheap, and it's in much better condition than my 300tdi bonnet.

The only silly problem, is the bonnet stay on mine is the big flat metal strip type, and the TD5 bonnet has a normal type rod.

I don't have a rod, and can't see a way to mount the flat strip to the alloy of the inner bonnet. Has anyone done this? If not can someone put up a photo of the bonnet stay rod on a td5 so I can see how it works.

Cheers

I've done the same, td5 bonnet on a 300, I bought a td5 bonnet stay, bent bottom end into a circle to fit into the 300 bracket , easy.

I've seen fenders with small tailgate dampers fitted to help with the bonnet up and stay!
Might be an idea - Sure someone on here's done it... :)
