used the car all day. not a problem. went to lock it with the fob "nothing"
Won,t lock /unlock won,t start as light on dash not going out. Tryed new battery still the same, light on fob comes on when buttons pressed ?????
any ideas, desperate :confused::confused::confused::confused:

The immobiliser is passive so if it the engine is not re-mobilising then it's a good chance the fob is faulty. If it was the alarm/central locking only then it could be a receiver fault.

Good thinking does this mean immobilizer and door locking are on seperate systems that,s why diagnosed as a fob fault. If i get a new fob will i have to get it re-programed.:confused::confused:

Yes & Yes but I would get you key/fob tested first, LR dealers and others have the kit to do that, you don't have a spare then.

The alarm/immobiliser/central locking will be on fused circuits have you check them but then they should not of blown.

Cheers Discool
Will check fuses first as i bounced off a kerb on the way home. Long shot but i hope it,s a fuse, hate giving money to the stealers. Just got to find the bloody thing

Just been outside and tryed the fob again all working fine.
what do you reckon gremlin,s or what. Seem to get you,re fair share of these with the TD5,s
Thanks all for you,re input, good helpfull website:):):):D

Something similar has happened once to me, also on a TD5. Key would not unset alarm or start car. A couple of hours later it worked and has been fine since (that's 2 years). It doesn't help, but at least you're not alone.

Still o/k a day later. Just wondering when the gremlins are going to wake up again. Certainly keep you on you,re toes these landrovers (TD5s). should give you a free prescription of calm tablets when you buy one.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Hi all, just wanted to say, when i had a new landrover disco landmark ltd on hire about 4 years ago i could not open doors and alarm was going mad. I called landrover response and he said that this is the third one that had gone wrong today. Apparently my local superstores right next to military/naval place and they sometimes carry ou tests with radar and stuff, which seems to affect landrover disco's.reagrds Mark

I've got a problem with mine. Both fobs will lock/unlock the car. The immobilser will set ok and give its flash every two secs but the immobiliser will not come off as the light just flashes rapidly. Upon advice, I've tried letting the alarm go off a couple of times and resetting but to no avail. This has been like this for a couple of days now and, because of the time of year/weather and because it's electrics, no one seems interested in having a look. I need to get to work. Any tips anyone?

I have 2 key fobs and both of them do this and now it is like they have packed in all together. I dont know where to start as so many different things I have read on here about this sort of problem, I am starting with fully charging the landy battery, yet if this does not work, where do I go from here!!
