Please forgive me as I am new to this game
I have a TD5 with an auto gearbox. I bought the car with a few problems.
Firstly the gearbox does not change up as quickly as it does when it's warmed up. If the sport button is used the gearbox does change down and up when the switch is de-selected it changes up again. This problem predominately happens when the gearbox is cold. I have been advised to change the oil, the clutch packs and then the gearbox (in that order).
Secondly the car does not start all the time (especially if the nose of the car is pointing up hill). If it does not start I have to follow a fuel pump priming sequence which involves leaving the ignition on for 15 secs and then turning the engine for ten times by which time it will start. I am led to believe it is the full running back into the full tank. Is this an air leak or a non return valve?
