hi,

some people have seen my thread on here where ive had a clattering noise on my td4.

eventually after it got worse found that it was the crank pulley.

bought a new pulley from evilbay for £55, fitted it saturday and all was well. today after 150 miles it has started clattering again. i have done some googling and found that people have had the same issue with cheap pulleys.

anyway ive contacted the seller and asked for a refund, what i would like to know is, what would be the recommended place to get a replacement?

thanks in advance.

That is a big difference. DMGRS are normally the cheapest place. But I'm liking the Island 4X4 price. Cheers Arctic ;)

just waiting to hear back from the seller before i order the new one. thanks for everyones help.

edit: seller has agreed to a refund. claims theyve never had issues with them  still no fuss, even sending a pre paid label to return it, so happy all round really.

just about to pull the trigger on a corteco pulley, but may wait till the morning and see if i can get one from euro car parts, that way ill have it tomorrow and can get it fitted.

My pleasure have yet to ever purchase from dmgrs as I always find the same part from other vendors are cheaper, my opinion only

I would have pulled the trigger take a look at this from eurocarparts.

I must admit that I've used Island 4X4 more times than DMGRS. Although the latter is very competitive for things like K series head gasket kits.

undone it with my electric impact gun. torqued it up as its supposed to - iirc its 100nm,60°,60°,30°. done using a 24inch breaker bar with a torgue angle meter.

Proper job you should have no trouble from it again for another 80,000 miles minimum, doe's the engine feel better also

yes, was quite surprised at how much smoother it is. even compared the new "cheapy" pulley. for anyone needing to change, its worth spending the extra money for a genuine corteco one.
