£55 from the dealer, could of got it cheaper at Lucas parts but they couldn't match the part number. It turns out my new sensor has a new number which is recognised by lucas. however they wanted £45 so I've only lost a tenner.

Cheers Mondo
I got the idea from somebody who posted a thread with the same problem on a V6 so I would like to thank them. It just shows the benefits of club web sites.

It sure dose!

Now then.Wots up wi yer maf??? you say you disconnected it:eek:

Hi Mondo,
Same as everybody else, no power below 2500 rpm when turbo kicks in, pulls away from junctions very slowly. Will try and clean it with a degreasing spray when I get a chance. I hope I don't have to replace it. With the MAF disconnected it runs like new. Why isn't it fitted after the Air Filter?

Erm! tis innit??

Mine just chucks out smoke when i disconnect it,still goes like o loony thou
If it snot causing you any problems with it disconnected, I'd just leave it off.

My mistake, I've not looked very close. I just assumed that it got covered in ****e because it was before the filter. Is there any chance you've got a small hole in your turbo hose causing the smoke, I've heard this can happen. P.S I hope I don't sound like I'm trying to tell how to suck eggs, you've probably already checked this.

Look guys ya all missing the point of the maf. . .if ya maf improves yer motor when it is disconnected then its a problem. . .hence the silly maf measures air intake too turbo and at a certain rpm increases speed of turbo according to air/engine temperature and so max efficiency is obtained using this basic sum [simple really] hence the maf is a really important sum , end of basic earthling normal. . .ya dipsticks. . .:D

Doh!
Now yer ****in tell me!!!!
But wiv it disconected, yer puter uses a default value to achieve the aboveSo, No you wont have max efficiency but yer motor performs better, than with it on

Hi Mondo
Just cleaned my MAF with a degreasing spray and dried it with dry compressed air. Seems to to be working fine now.

So have I,Just to make certain i dont have any problems with it and it looks like the the sales bloke where i bought it was telling the TRUTH Its been replaced Jan 2006)and in perfect working order

So NEXT I'm going for the intercooler, cos when i did the egr the hoses were full of crap ,So the intercooler Must be???? (Therfor reducing air flow)?????Dunno though cos the maf would pick that up and alter the fuelling accordingly?????
and the top hose blows up like a balloon when i rev it

Yer! After changing the hoses!!!!

Unless anyone else can put me right, reguarding the top hose, before i set about savagin the front bumper off:D

Anyhow! glad yours is sorted steve:D

Correct. . .:)

Hi Guys

Here's one for you, I have troble starting my 2002 Td4. In the morning it starts with no trouble at all, and drives like a dream as usual, the trouble starts when I stop. The starter motor will turn and turn but it won't start, it will take at least two - three goes to get it going but each go takes at least 6-10 seconds before anything will spark, I also lost power a few times during the day but strangley the next day everything is fine. Any Ideas?:scratching_chin:
