I bought my TD4 freelander about 2 months ago and since then I have tried various things to get the mil light to stay off.
I have put a new EGR valve in it,a rocker cover breather and a new fuel filter but the light keeps coming back on between 60 and 70 miles per hour it's as if it goes into limp mode and I have to slow down to get the light off,any ideas to what causes this,
Thanks,
William

is the fuel pump ok ,can u hear it when u put the ign on

have u tried putting an injector cleaner in , personally don't ever use supermarket fuel

Probably your boost solenoid valve.

I had the same with mine, it was sticking open so turbo wasn't running 100% efficent. Used to get to 70mph and cause issues. Replaced it and good as new and so much faster.
Link below to what solved mine.

I also found the vacuum hoses had holes in mine , ended up having the replace all of them , but always good to know about the turbo actuator sticking open

Sounds like the classic low pressure fuel pump to me. It's probably worth checking the pressure with a live data diagnostic equipment.

I'll try this it got a new fuel pump in June ,what can you do to fix this if this the case,
Thanks

if u have a look on the lz map there may be someone near u with a diagnostic

assume the fuel filter was also replaced along with the fuel pump

You really need to look at the ECU live data. The low fuel pressure should be around 360Kpa but definitely no less than 320Kpa.
