hi new to 4x4 mine is a freelander 2.0 turbo diesel ive been told its a tci engine ....so is it kown as a td4 ?

If it's a 2 litre Td4, it'll be a 2000-2006 model with a BMW engine, capacity of 1951cc. Check yer logbook. Earlier models ran the Rover L-series 2 litre turbodiesel (1997-2000) also referred to as XEDI or XDI. Later Freelander 2 models run a Ford 2.2 Litre, 2006 on, also badged TD4.

thanks for the help mines 1999 xedi..any idea who makes the engine ?

It's a Rover L-Series which someone once told me was a developement of the old Perkins Prima engine, though I'm not sure if that's true.
